Author of "From the Ashes of Faith"
I write about my life as a midwest mom and atheist. My posts are personal and I often share my poetry as well.
A Secular Childhood: Letters to My Daughter
I am writing a collection of letters that are intended for my daughter when she's a young adult. Some of the letters include morals and lessons from a humanist perspective and some are stories of the things she's doing now as a curious and rambunctious four-year-old.
You can find these letters posted to my blog at FtB every week.
Recovering without god: a Story of Mental Illness and Hope in a Secular Life
August 20th, 2020 --
I am currently writing a book of essays explaining how being an atheist has been a crucial part of my recovery from schizoaffective disorder. I feel grounded and stable with the clarity that comes from a secular life. Atheism reinforces the insight I have in my illness and symptoms which can be so incredibly important when you've dealt with psychosis.
I will post updates as I continue working on this project.
The Housewife Who Ruled a Kingdom
August 20th, 2020 -
Another poetry project -- I am currently writing a book of erotic poetry.
A restless housewife, a loving husband, a sexy stranger, and a wild imagination tell a story of fun and exploration.
I will post some poems soon! Check back!

I am in the beginning stages of writing an inspirational poetry book. The book will be in memory of an ancestor of mine who was a vocal suffragist here in NW Ohio. Her story of perseverance inspires me today and I want to share it with the world.
I had always been proud of my family's history here in NW Ohio. My family was some of the early settlers to the area and our farm was established in 1852. However, I recently learned that my family has had a lot of involvement with the Ku Klux Klan. Those who were klansmen are now dead and those of us remaining do not share their beliefs. I don't think it's right for me to write about one inspirational suffragist when the rest of the family was out doing horrible things. I'm going to tell the whole story and I'm naming this project, "Unsettled".
